The Sullivan Canyon Preservation Association's mission is to preserve this open space for public access, equestrian use, and equestrian-friendly activities.

As the father of five daughters I have marveled for seven decades at the wide and misty-eyed love of the little girl, the maiden of the grown woman, for the ponies of childhood and the horses that followed.  There is no romance in nature quite like it and I am grateful to those who fight to keep sufficient open space, especially in the heart of urban areas where, only through the herculean efforts of the few who “get” it, can these romances still take place and flower.  One such is Sullivan Canyon- where my daughters first fell head over hooves in love.
